Administration of an Estate (Uncontested)
Our charges are calculated namely by reference to the time spent by the fee earner dealing with the matter. The charge rate will not exceed £200 per hour plus VAT. The rate of VAT is 20%. In estate administration matters it is often difficult to estimate how many hours of work will be necessary to complete the matter. We therefore tend to say that our fee will not exceed 2% of the gross estate. Please note that this does not mean that we will charge 2%, but it simply helps to mention this percentage as it helps us to prepare a fee that is fair and proportionate having regard to the size of the estate. We always take into consideration various factors, such as the difficulty of the work undertaken and the importance of the work to the client. We would always send our proposed fee to you for your approval before submitting the same.
